James D. Kaad

As Director of Trading and Technology, James Kaad has a passion for applying insightful analysis to opaque data and bringing order and consistency to our clients’ portfolios. His responsibilities include, placing trades to help ensure the greatest returns for each client. He also provides detailed investment analysis, performance reporting and basic tech support. He loves that his data analysis role contributes to our mission of increased financial freedom and success for our clients.

James got his career inspiration while taking an applied portfolio management class at Washburn University. He enjoyed how getting into the data and digging for insights could help the well-being of both companies and people. After earning his BBA and MBA degrees, he immediately joined Clayton Wealth Partners and has earned his Certified Investment Management Analysist® (CIMA®) designation to better assist our clients. He’s an active member of the Investments and Wealth Institute.

In his free time, the Topeka resident enjoys playing board games and tuning Japanese sports cars. He’s pretty handy, doing his own car’s regular maintenance and modifications. And rather than buy a computer, he will buy the components and build the computer himself.
