MANHATTAN, Kansas—December 20, 2022—Clint Patty, J.D., Managing Partner of Clayton Wealth Partners, was recently invited to speak to students in Kansas State’s personal financial planning program.
Patty shared the importance of developing a professional network and how to get started.
“It took me a long time in my career to fully appreciate the importance of networking,” Patty said. “Collecting and connecting people is vital to the development of a successful professional community.”
He added that networking isn’t about the development of referrals or personal gain.
“While that may very well be the result, the purpose of networking is to connect people within your network and build a strong community of service to other professionals,” Patty said.
Patty spoke to K-State students on November 16. He was invited by Associate Professor Stuart Heckman, CFP®, director of the Ph.D. program.
Kansas State’s personal financial planning doctorate is one of just four doctoral programs to be registered with the CFP Board. Conducted largely online, it is designed for professionals with busy careers and substantial roots where they live.
