TOPEKA—November 1, 2024—When Clayton Wealth Partners’ team members, clients, and friends gathered to celebrate the firm’s 40th anniversary on October 10, they didn’t just look to the past. They looked ahead—to the next 40 years and beyond.

Nearly 300 people came together at Heritage Hall in Topeka to commemorate a remarkable milestone: 40 years of financial planning and investment management dedicated to putting clients’ interests first. The evening was a warm, celebratory reflection on the firm’s history, a nod to its present-day impact, and a vision for the future centered on the continuity of client-centered service.

A Celebration of Clients and Community

The evening began with a lively social hour, complete with retro arcade games and an upbeat atmosphere. Guests mingled, laughed, and enjoyed classic games like Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man—two of which were raffled off later in the evening to much excitement. The games were a nostalgic hit, reinforcing the deep bonds between the firm and its clients.

The formal program kicked off with a retrospective video chronicling the firm’s first 40 years, celebrating key milestones, achievements, and the relationships that have defined Clayton Wealth Partners. Following the video, founders Randy and Debra Clayton took the stage to reflect on the firm’s journey and share a vision for the future.

They spoke about the importance of succession planning—a theme highlighted in a recent TK Magazine cover story—and expressed confidence in the next generation of advisors. Randy noted that he and Debra believe in the team so much that they’ve entrusted their own financial futures to these advisors. Their remarks reinforced the firm’s commitment to maintaining a foundation of trusted expertise and client-focused service for decades to come.

Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future

A highlight of the evening was the awarding of the inaugural Clayton Wealth Partners Impact Scholarship. Elijah Wilson, a senior at Kansas State University studying Personal Financial Planning, was this year’s recipient.

Accompanied by his brother, Elijah was recognized during the program for his dedication to the financial planning profession. The scholarship, valued at up to $4,000, covers CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® exam fees and study materials, symbolizing the firm’s investment in the next generation of CFP® professionals.

Fun, Food, and Fellowship

In addition to a delicious plated dinner, guests participated in a lively round of ‘80s-themed trivia, recalling moments that defined the decade the firm was founded. Tables buzzed with friendly competition, laughter, and camaraderie, creating a celebratory atmosphere.

One especially memorable moment occurred during a trivia segment featuring staff photos from the 1980s. When Paraplanner Michelle Folster’s yearbook photo appeared on the screen, a client recognized her, as they had attended the same high school. The lighthearted moment reinforced the strong sense of community that Clayton Wealth Partners strives to nurture.

Looking Ahead

As the evening drew to a close, the mood was one of optimism and gratitude. Managing Partner Clint Patty reflected on the event, saying, “This celebration was more than an anniversary. It was a heartfelt testament to the power of relationships, the importance of continuity, and the promise of a future guided by shared values.”

Clayton Wealth Partners moves forward with gratitude for the past, a commitment to the present, and a clear vision for the future. The 40th-anniversary celebration wasn’t just a reflection on history but a confident step toward the decades ahead.
