Clayton Wealth Partners paraplanner Michelle Folster recently coordinated a communitywide blood drive in memory of her husband, Chris Folster.
This was the third blood drive organized by Michelle, whose husband passed away from cancer in late 2016. During his sickness, Chris had needed several blood transfusions.
“I will forever be grateful to the people who generously provided their life-giving blood,” said Michelle. “Though Chris still passed, the transfusions literally extended his life, giving us more time together.”
The importance of those transfusions prompted Michelle to organize the first blood drive shortly after Chris died, and the community support has kept her going.
The third annual Chris Folster Memorial Blood Drive was held January 30 at Heritage Christian School in Topeka.
“There were 32 successful donations,” Michelle said, “which means up to 64 people can receive this vital support when they most need it.”
