TOPEKA, Kansas—July 22, 2021—Clayton Wealth Partners is pleased to announce that Colton Walker, CRPC®, has joined the team as an Associate Wealth Advisor.
Walker supports Senior Wealth Advisors and clients at the fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas. His responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, attending client meetings and following up on action items, and analyzing client situations and drawing up recommendations.
“We are excited to have Colton join the team,” said Barbara Duncan, CFP®, a Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor. “He has a genuine desire to connect with clients on a personal level, which is essential for the long-term relationships we develop. And his analytical mind-set, financial planning experience, and follow-through help ensure that our financial planning strategies are implemented.”
Before joining Clayton Wealth Partners, Walker served as an Associate Financial Advisor for another financial services firm for nearly three years. He served about 70 clients in areas including cash flow, investments, retirement planning, insurance needs analysis, education savings, and estate planning strategies.
He graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in personal financial planning and subsequently attained the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) certification.
“I am pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification now,” Walker said. “I think financial planners with the CFP® mark can deepen the impact they have for clients since the certification requires such a broad education, in addition to its experience and ethics requirements.”
Walker is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He and his wife, Megan, live in Topeka, where they share a passion of helping youth in foster care. They also help run a children’s ministry at Community Church.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
